MAGALIA, Calif. — A Grass Valley man was arrested Saturday after authorities linked him to a theft and the unauthorized use of a debit card in Magalia.

Butte County deputies identified 30-year-old Jeremiah Vega as the suspect accused of withdrawing money using another person’s debit card. Investigators also discovered Vega had both an active felony warrant and a misdemeanor warrant at the time of the arrest.

During a search, deputies found methamphetamine in Vega’s possession. He was taken into custody and booked into Butte County Jail on multiple felony charges, including theft by use of an access card and possession of a controlled substance.

Officials said an additional felony drug charge was filed under Proposition 36 due to Vega’s prior drug-related convictions.
