TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested a man in connection with the theft of a pickup truck from Americas Auto Auction, authorities said.
Officers responded around 4 a.m. on January 31 to a report of a vehicle theft at the lot near Admiral Boulevard and Mingo Road. A white Chevrolet Silverado had been driven through the closed gate. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Mikal Terrell, was later spotted speeding down 89th East Avenue and failed to stop for stop signs or police commands.
Police said Terrell drove through a fence and a church parking lot near 2nd Street and Vandalia Avenue before getting the truck stuck in snow and mud. He initially refused to exit the vehicle and was eventually removed using pepper balls.
Officers returned the truck, its key, and an extra key fob to Americas Auto Auction. Terrell was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on multiple charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle after a prior felony conviction, possession of a stolen vehicle after a prior felony, eluding officers, concealing stolen property, malicious injury to property, obstructing an officer, and resisting arrest.
Authorities stressed that this is an arrest, not a conviction.
