Malpe Police Arrest Absconding Theft Accused After 11 Years

Malpe, Karnataka: The Malpe police have arrested two accused who had been absconding for nearly 11 years in connection with a theft case reported at Malpe Beach.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Asha Sumithra Krishna and Rekha Danappa, who failed to appear before the court for over a decade following the incident.

A Malpe police team, including officers Suresh Kumar, Vishwanath, and Sinchana, traced the duo to the Hosamane area of Bhadravathi taluk in Shivamogga district and arrested them on January 31.

The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, and they are currently lodged at Mangaluru prison, police confirmed.
