Kamareddy: Kamareddy police have arrested an inter-state burglary gang responsible for a string of thefts across Telangana and Odisha, cracking several pending cases. The operation was led by District Superintendent of Police M. Rajesh Chandra, IPS.
The probe began after a burglary was reported on January 2, 2026, at Ashok Nagar Colony by Maloth Balu. Kamareddy Town Police registered a case and launched a detailed investigation. One suspect, Chillakuri Krishna Reddy (alias Chandi Krishna), was arrested on January 9 and remanded to judicial custody. Subsequent efforts led to the interception of two absconding gang members, Moodavath Anjiya and Satyanarayana, during a vehicle check near Siricilla Bypass on February 2.
During questioning, the trio admitted to multiple burglaries with another associate, targeting homes and shops by forcibly opening locks using iron rods, both day and night. Police revealed the gang used a stolen glamour motorcycle with a tampered number plate to carry out thefts. Stolen gold, silver, cash, and mobile phones were either pledged at finance companies or sold through intermediaries, with proceeds spent on alcohol, gambling, and personal expenses.
Recovered property includes a Vivo mobile phone, silver ornaments, and nine silver ingots weighing around 89 grams. The gang is linked to multiple cases across Kamareddy, Jogipet, Jeedimetla, Narsapur, Shadnagar, Vemulawada, and Siricilla.
The arrests were made by Kamareddy Town Inspector B. Narahari, CCS Inspector N. Srinivas, ASI Ranga Rao, constables Kamalakar, Raju, Sampath, CCS staff Ch. Mahender, HC G. Srinivasa Rao, ARHC (IT Cell), and PC Jaganapati.
