In a successful operation, Arakkonam Town police arrested K. Parameshwaran (28) of Vellore and S. Karthik (37) of Thiruninravur near Avadi on February 1, 2026, for allegedly stealing two-wheelers from public places across Vellore, Ranipet, and Tiruvannamalai districts.
Police investigations revealed that the duo primarily targeted crowded areas and temple festivals to avoid detection. Parameshwaran, who previously worked as a helper at a mechanic workshop, reportedly repaired the stolen bikes or removed valuable spare parts before selling them.
Authorities said that the arrests mark a significant breakthrough in curbing vehicle theft in the region, and further investigations are ongoing to determine if the duo had any additional accomplices.
