RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. — Three women were arrested after a series of coordinated retail thefts across Southern California, law enforcement officials said.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded on January 22 to a report of a theft involving a “large amount of beauty products” on the 1600 block of N. Perris Boulevard. During the investigation, deputies identified two suspects: 45-year-old Janely Masvidal and 29-year-old Briana Marin, both of Los Angeles.
Investigators determined that Masvidal and Marin were connected to thefts in Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles counties, totaling approximately $20,000 in stolen merchandise. Deputies also identified a storage location on the 7900 block of Artesia Boulevard in Buena Park.
Both women were arrested on Wednesday on the 7900 block of Beach Boulevard in Buena Park. They were booked on charges of grand theft, organized retail theft, burglary, and conspiracy.
During the execution of a search warrant at the Artesia Boulevard property, deputies located a third suspect, 56-year-old Clementina Peralta. She was arrested without incident and booked for possession of stolen property.
Authorities seized thousands of dollars in suspected stolen items, including clothing, beauty products, marijuana vape products, and several pounds of processed marijuana, in addition to a large amount of U.S. currency.
