CANYON COUNTRY, Calif. — A woman accused of stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from a Canyon Country retail store was arrested last week following an investigation by detectives with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Authorities said 34-year-old Yeni Vega was taken into custody on January 29 after Crime Impact Team deputies traveled to her residence in Inglewood to serve an arrest warrant. She was then transported back to the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.

The alleged theft occurred on December 16 at a store located in the 19700 block of Golden Valley Road. Investigators said Vega is accused of leaving the store without paying for several items, including purses, approximately a dozen pairs of Nike Jordan shoes, and more than $1,000 worth of bras and underwear.

Detectives were able to identify Vega through follow-up investigation and obtained an arrest warrant prior to her apprehension, according to the Sheriff’s Station.

The case remains under investigation.
