SOUTH FLORIDA — A husband and wife who run a luxury car dealership are facing dozens of charges in an alleged title fraud scheme, authorities reported.
Michael Anthony Lucci, 32, and Emily Marie Lucci, 30, owners of Luxury Auto Source in Davie, Florida, were arrested Wednesday following an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The couple faces more than three dozen charges, including:
Making false statements on bills of sale
Perjury by false written declaration
Uttering forged instruments
Possessing counterfeit vehicle titles or registrations
Organized fraud and racketeering
Investigators found that Emily Lucci submitted fraudulent documentation to a Miami-Dade tag agency to obtain a title for a 2020 Nissan GT-R, claiming repairs totaling $18,000 when the actual invoice was only about $1,200. The car was then listed for $94,500 after selling in 2022 for $55,000.
FHP’s investigation revealed eight additional vehicles with rebuilt titles obtained using falsified invoices, including:
2022 Porsche 911 – $187,900
2017 Bentley – $63,900
2020 Toyota Supra – $36,900
2018 BMW M3 – $37,900
2023 Cadillac Escalade – $56,900
2022 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat – $52,900 (multiple VINs, engine stolen from North Carolina)
An investigator noted, “These vehicles constitute contraband, as their titles were obtained through fraudulent means. Buyers may unknowingly face seizure of vehicles and loss of funds.”
Following a search warrant at the dealership, Michael Lucci was taken into custody, and Emily Lucci surrendered herself. Both were granted $30,000 bonds during their court appearance Thursday.
