A Scott County man accused of stealing a Chevrolet Silverado from a Philadelphia business last summer is now being held in Neshoba County following his arrest in Forest, authorities said.
Tony Franklin Goodson, 59, of Pulaski, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft in connection with the disappearance of a work truck belonging to Sisson Trucking, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.
The truck was reported stolen on the morning of July 9, 2025, from the company’s location on Weyerhaeuser Street in Philadelphia. Investigators determined the vehicle had likely been taken the previous day. Goodson, a former employee of the business, was later identified as a suspect.
Later that night, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Scott County deputies located the stolen truck stopped in the middle of a roadway. Authorities said Goodson was inside the vehicle and told officers it had overheated.
As deputies approached, they noticed Goodson attempting to conceal something and asked him to exit the truck. After stepping out, Goodson reportedly produced a small bag of methamphetamine from his underwear and admitted possession, telling officers, “You got me.”
Goodson was charged in Scott County with possession of a controlled substance and cited for obstructing a public roadway. After posting bond in Scott County, he was transferred to Neshoba County custody on January 13.
Goodson remains housed at the Neshoba County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond as the motor vehicle theft case proceeds.
