Delray Beach Arrest: Derick Fowler Charged with Burglary

Grand Theft and Resisting Officer Alleged in Case

by Sophia Bennett

DELRAY BEACH — Delray Beach Police arrested Derick Lee Fowler late Sunday night in connection with an alleged burglary and grand theft at an unoccupied structure, according to official booking records.

Fowler, a Black male, was taken into custody under Report No. 564321 at 9:51 p.m. on December 28, 2025. The arrest was filed by the Delray Beach Police Department.

He faces allegations of burglary of an unoccupied structure while unarmed, a felony offense under Florida law. Investigators also allege Fowler committed grand theft involving property valued between $750 and $5,000 and resisted an officer without violence during the encounter.

Authorities have not released details regarding the nature of the structure, the specific property involved, or the circumstances leading to the arrest. Fowler’s date of birth and bond information were not included in the initial records.

No injuries were reported. Officials emphasized that burglary and theft remain ongoing concerns for businesses and property owners in Delray Beach. Resisting an officer, even without violence, can add to charges and complicate legal proceedings.

As with all criminal matters, the charges are allegations, and Fowler is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
