LAREDO, Texas — A man is in custody following a reported vehicle burglary near downtown Laredo that resulted in the theft of personal belongings valued at approximately $1,000.
Laredo police officers responded to the 200 block of Salinas Avenue after receiving reports of a car break-in. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the rear passenger-side window of a truck had been shattered.
According to police, the vehicle’s owner said he parked the truck near the intersection of Salinas Avenue and Grant Street before crossing into Mexico. When he returned, he found that two black suitcases containing Christmas gifts had been stolen from the back seat.
Following an investigation, officers served 35-year-old Alejandro Rivera-Robledo with multiple arrest warrants. He now faces charges including burglary of a vehicle and theft of property.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
