Deonar police have arrested three individuals in connection with a daring Rs 13 lakh robbery in Govandi, where the accused allegedly posed as police officers.

The suspects—Pravin Shivnarayan Pandey (32) from Ghatkopar, Nisar Ahmed alias Salim Sawan Sheikh (46) from Malad West, and Sanjaykumar Jagannath Dubey (59) from Ghatkopar—were caught after the incident near K.D. Junction, Karbala Masjid.

According to the police, the suspects were seen arguing with another vehicle while carrying police-style batons. Acting on a tip-off, Senior Police Inspector Ramesh Pandurang Yadav and the crime detection team intervened.

The victim, Anita Jos Miranda (58), a retired resident of Riviera Towers, Vasai West, stated that the trio forcibly robbed her of Rs 13 lakh. Police successfully recovered the entire cash amount from the accused.

Further investigation revealed that the Ertiga car used in the robbery had a fake number plate. Authorities also seized two long batons resembling police-issued sticks. The probe into the incident is ongoing.
