Mumbai Police’s Nagpada team have arrested three history-sheeters involved in burglary and theft, recovering stolen property worth Rs 72.77 lakh before they could escape to Bihar.
The accused are Phulo Mohan Mukhiya (40), Santosh Ramjivan Mukhiya (33), and Lalu Mohan Mukhiya (37). Acting on confidential information, Nagpada police laid a trap and detained the trio around 5:30 am on Wednesday when they arrived in the area.
During interrogation, officers recovered gold and diamond jewellery, Rs 35,000 cash, groceries worth Rs 19,799 purchased with stolen funds, and two mobile phones valued at Rs 18,000. The total estimated value of the seized items is Rs 72,77,854.
The accused have been taken into custody for further investigation, and police are tracing the sources of other stolen property linked to them.
