A woman discovered her bag containing valuable gold jewellery and cash missing after shopping at a mall in New Gajuwaka.
K. Ramana had left her bag with the mall security before entering the store to buy clothes. The bag reportedly contained 11 tulas of gold jewellery and Rs50,000 cash.
Upon realizing the bag was missing, Ramana immediately lodged a complaint with the Gajuwaka crime police. Using CCTV footage, police traced the accused and successfully recovered the stolen jewellery and cash. The bag and valuables were returned to Ramana’s family.
The accused was identified as M Vasu (30), a resident of Indira Colony, Sriharipuram, who was promptly arrested by the authorities.
Police have praised the swift investigation and urged the public to remain cautious with their valuables in public places.
