SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — Two men arrested in late 2025 in connection with a series of construction site burglaries near Breckenridge have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft charges, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the men as David Zeledon, 56, of Summit County, and Nelson Gonzalez Lozano, 41, of Grand County. Their arrests followed an extensive investigation into missing equipment from multiple construction sites.
Both men were sentenced on Dec. 15, 2025, by Summit County Court Judge Robert Gregory. Zeledon and Lozano each pleaded guilty to Class 1 misdemeanor theft and received deferred sentences with 24 months of probation.
As part of their probation, the men must not violate any laws other than minor traffic infractions, must comply with probation department recommendations, and are prohibited from consuming alcohol or unprescribed drugs, including marijuana. Each was also ordered to pay approximately $1,500 in fines and court costs.
According to arrest affidavits, deputies investigated three burglaries at two construction sites near Breckenridge. Security cameras at the sites captured footage of two men stealing equipment, with two of the burglaries occurring on the same night in October.
Investigators used Flock license plate reader cameras to identify a vehicle seen near the crime scenes. The vehicle was stopped on Oct. 23, 2025, with Zeledon driving. While no stolen property was found at that time, further investigation led deputies to question Zeledon at his home. He admitted being present at construction sites with Lozano but claimed Lozano took the equipment.
Zeledon was arrested on Oct. 26. Deputies later executed a search warrant at Lozano’s residence in Kremmling, though the stolen tools were not recovered. Lozano was arrested on Nov. 5, after returning from Mexico, where investigators believe the stolen equipment had been transported and sold.
