LARCHWOOD, Iowa — A 54-year-old Ocheyedan woman was arrested Friday evening on a Lyon County warrant in connection with a reported gas theft at a Larchwood convenience store.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said Becky Lynn Rose was taken into custody around 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 26 on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

The charge stems from a report at Larchwood Quick Stop, where surveillance video showed a 2021 Buick Encore pulling up to a gas pump, being fueled, and leaving without payment at approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 2. The value of the stolen fuel was estimated at $21.25.

Investigators said Rose was identified as both the registered owner of the vehicle and the individual seen in the surveillance footage.

A warrant for her arrest was issued on Dec. 19. Fifth-degree theft in Iowa applies to cases involving property valued at less than $300.

Rose is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
