Delhi Police have arrested two construction company employees, Ramu and Anuj, for orchestrating a fake theft of Rs 15 lakh in Kalindi Kunj, southeast Delhi.

The company’s account manager filed a complaint after Ramu, a field boy, reported that a bag containing cash and the company motorcycle had been stolen on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway. Suspicion arose when Anuj, the company’s cook, was also missing and unreachable.

Police noticed inconsistencies in their statements. A case was registered under Sections 316 (criminal breach of trust), 61 (criminal conspiracy), and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS.

DCP (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said that through surveillance, intelligence gathering, and field investigation, the accused were traced. Both 23-year-olds from Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested, with Rs 14.5 lakh cash and the company motorcycle recovered. Ramu’s mobile phone was also seized for further investigation.

The case is under further investigation by Delhi Police to uncover any additional accomplices or related frauds.
