ATLANTA, Ga. — A former Towns County deputy, Andrew Glass, has been arrested for allegedly stealing firearms from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
The GBI said the Towns County Sheriff’s Office requested their assistance after two guns went missing from the office’s inventory. One of the firearms was recovered during the investigation, which ultimately led to Glass’s arrest.
Glass has been charged with theft by conversion, violation of oath of office, and making false statements. He was taken into custody at the Towns County Detention Center.
The GBI continues to investigate the incident to determine if additional charges are warranted.
