DANVILLE, Ill. — Kylie Hamer, formerly of Westville, Illinois, has been sentenced to 12½ years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to burglary and unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. After completing her prison term, Hamer will serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release.
The charges arose from two separate incidents in 2024. On July 16, Hamer was caught exiting a boarded-up house in Georgetown, Illinois, which was undergoing rehabilitation. The property owner discovered her inside and contacted the police. Hamer admitted she had kicked in a plywood-covered back door to search for a jewelry box.
In a separate case on October 2, 2024, agents with the Vermilion Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested Hamer for dealing approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine. The substance was confirmed by the Illinois State Police Crime Lab.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy commended the Georgetown Police Department and the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group for their roles in apprehending Hamer. “This sentence demonstrates our collaborative commitment with all law enforcement agencies to keep Vermilion County safe,” Lacy said.
