BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A stolen vehicle pursuit through Bowling Green ended with a suspect’s arrest after he attempted to flee on foot along a riverbank on Dec. 31, according to authorities.

The Bowling Green Police Department received a FLOCK camera alert indicating a stolen vehicle had entered the city along KY-185. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled.

Police later found the vehicle abandoned in a dry creek bed. The suspect ran toward a nearby river but was captured with assistance from multiple BGPD units, including the department’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Team.

The suspect was identified as Cody Slaughter of Bowling Green. He was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail on numerous charges, including theft of a motor vehicle valued between $1,000 and $10,000, second-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree criminal mischief, operating a vehicle under the influence (first offense), resisting arrest, and multiple drug-related charges involving controlled substances and paraphernalia.

Several agencies assisted in the response, including BGPD’s K-9 Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, Kentucky State Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Medical Center EMS, and the Bowling Green Fire Department.
