A government school teacher in Gorakhpur, Nawal Kishore (56), has been arrested on charges of sexually harassing girl students at a primary school, police officials said.
The allegations surfaced after students of Classes 3 and 4 informed their parents that the teacher repeatedly summoned them under the pretext of checking homework, showed obscene videos and photographs, and engaged in inappropriate physical conduct. Victims also stated that he threatened them with violence if they resisted or reported the behavior.
The incident took place at a school under Belghat police station, which has around 45 students. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered, and the accused was taken into custody on Wednesday evening.
SP South Dinesh Kumar said authorities are investigating the case, and parents have demanded strict action to ensure the safety of children in the school.
