In a major breakthrough under Operation Khulasa, Samdari police in Balotra district arrested eight members of a notorious burglary gang and recovered 63 grams of gold, over 1 kg of silver, and Rs2 lakh in cash.
According to Balotra SP Hari Shankar, the gang confessed to a series of burglaries spanning Pali, Jalore, and Jodhpur districts. “They primarily targeted locked houses, shops, and deserted commercial buildings, striking at night after thorough reconnaissance,” said Shankar.
The arrests followed theft complaints filed by residents Man Singh and Shyamlal of Devda on March 6, after burglars broke into their homes on March 5, stealing valuables and cash.
Under the leadership of Samdari SHO Omprakash Nip, police teams utilized a mix of technical surveillance and traditional investigation techniques. “Our efforts focused on identifying repeat offenders with known property crime history,” added SP Shankar.
