RED BLUFF, Calif. — Randall Smith, 67, was arrested early Thursday morning in Red Bluff after officers discovered a significant amount of methamphetamine in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

The Red Bluff Police Department (RBPD) said officers pulled over Smith just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Willow and Washington Streets for vehicle code violations. Upon further investigation, authorities learned that Smith was driving with a suspended license.

During the stop, officers found over an ounce of methamphetamine in several plastic bags, along with a digital scale used for weighing drugs.

Smith, who has a history of multiple convictions for hard drug offenses, had his vehicle impounded. He was arrested and transported to Tehama County Jail.

The Red Bluff Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
