In a coordinated crackdown on drug trafficking, Mohali police have arrested six individuals in three separate operations over the past two days, recovering 105 grams of heroin and Rs5 lakh in suspected drug money.
The first operation was led by the SHO of Phase 11 police station, who nabbed Lakhwinder Singh and Suraj Singh from Saharna village in Mansa. The two were found with 25.95 grams of heroin. During interrogation, Lakhwinder revealed the drugs had been supplied by Sandeep Singh alias Billa of Khalchian Jadid village, Ferozepur.
Police raided Billa’s house, seizing 18.61 grams of heroin and Rs4.78 lakh believed to be drug proceeds. A case has been registered under Sections 21, 61, 85, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
In Zirakpur, Gurpreet Singh alias Ram Singh from Tarn Taran, currently residing in Barmajra village, was arrested by SHO Gagandeep Singh and SI Balraj Singh. The suspect was spotted near the McDonald’s crossing and attempted to flee into nearby fields but was caught after a chase. Police recovered 25 grams of heroin from his possession. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Zirakpur police station.
In Kurali, two individuals were arrested with 37 grams of heroin and Rs21,740 in cash. Their identities remain undisclosed due to an ongoing search for more accomplices. DSP Mullanpur Mohit Agarwal confirmed that investigations are active and further arrests are expected.
