In a major drug bust, Plantsite police arrested 26-year-old Lengdu Majhi for possessing and trafficking ganja on Tuesday. The arrest took place near the railway over bridge on Gandhi Road during a routine patrol after receiving a tip-off.
Majhi, a resident of Hill Top Basti in Sector-21, Nayabazar, was found in possession of 2.1 kg of ganja valued at Rs 20,000. Police officials confirmed that the accused intended to sell the illegal substance for personal gain.
IIC B K Pradhan stated, “We have seized the contraband and are continuing our investigation to uncover any potential links to a larger drug trafficking network.”
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat drug-related activities in the region.
