Toronto police have charged a 17-year-old with two counts of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Quentin Caza, 18, and Jeremy McNeil, 20, nearly three weeks after the deadly incident rocked the city’s Riverdale neighbourhood.

The shooting occurred on the night of April 15, around 11 p.m., near Bain and Logan avenues. Responding to reports of gunfire, officers arrived to find both victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene; the other succumbed to injuries after being rushed to hospital.

Police later said the nature of the clustered gunfire at the scene suggested the attack was targeted.

On Saturday, investigators arrested a 17-year-old suspect, whose name is withheld under Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act. The teen was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and made a court appearance via video at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre the same day.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with further information or video footage to come forward.
