A major retail theft operation in Ventura County led to the arrest of 15 suspects and the recovery of approximately $23,000 in stolen property. The multi-day operation took place at the Camarillo Premium Outlets from October 4 to 6, with law enforcement uncovering a variety of stolen goods, including 90 grams of methamphetamine and a stolen vehicle.

The suspects, ranging from 20 to 64 years old, were involved in a series of retail thefts, with two vehicle pursuits taking place during the operation. Derrell Jones and Dajuan Butler led deputies on a high-speed chase after thefts at Target and Walmart in Camarillo, eventually crashing and being found with $7,000 in stolen merchandise and drugs.

Another pursuit involved Carolina Valverde, who was seen stealing from a Nike store and led deputies on a chase before crashing into a fence. She was also found with stolen merchandise valued at $7,000.

The other suspects were arrested on various charges, including conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, possession of stolen property, drug possession, and resisting arrest. Authorities highlighted the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and retailers in combating organized retail theft.

The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force is dedicated to tackling retail theft, vehicle theft, and other related crimes, working closely with local businesses to ensure public safety.
