WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Myron Smith, a 14-year-old boy, after a suspected robbery in Southwest D.C. on Sunday afternoon.
According to D.C. police, the shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Capitol Street, SW. Smith, who was found suffering from gunshot wounds, was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
Police have charged the 14-year-old suspect from Northeast D.C. with felony murder and carrying a pistol without a license. Two other 16-year-old boys, also from Northeast D.C., were arrested and charged with carrying a pistol without a license.
The suspects were located in a stolen White Kia Optima, believed to be involved in the shooting. Officers recovered two guns inside the vehicle during their arrest.
