Zachariah Etherton Charged in Johnstown Burglaries

Four break-ins targeted three businesses, police say

Johnstown, NY (WRGB) — A Gloversville man is facing multiple felony charges following a string of burglaries that occurred over the summer in Fulton County.

Zachariah Etherton, 24, was arrested on Tuesday, August 26, by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation linked him to four separate break-ins at three businesses in the Town of Johnstown, with one business targeted twice.

According to Sheriff Richard C. Giardino, the burglaries took place between May 29 and August 22, 2025. Authorities say Etherton caused property damage at two of the businesses and stole items from all four burglary incidents.

He was taken into custody at around 10:42 a.m. at his residence on 345 N Main Street, Gloversville.

Etherton has been charged with:

Four counts of Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D felony)

One count of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class E felony)

One count of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (Class A misdemeanor)

Four counts of Petit Larceny (Class A misdemeanors)

Authorities have not released details about the specific businesses involved or the value of the stolen property. Further court proceedings are pending.
