MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Yudier Sanchez, a former employee at Keralty Hospital, was arrested last week for allegedly stealing a $45,000 Rolex watch from an elderly patient.
Detectives from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office charged Sanchez with grand theft after an internal investigation and video review showed him taking the valuable watch and placing it in his pocket.
The 75-year-old patient had her watch and jewelry placed in an envelope when she checked into the hospital. It wasn’t until her discharge over a week later that her daughter noticed the watch was missing.
Sanchez denies the theft but has pleaded not guilty. He faces charges of grand theft and exploitation of the elderly. The stolen Rolex has not been recovered.
Sanchez was released on bond after his arrest and is awaiting further legal proceedings.
