The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested Yudhvir Singh, a resident of Mandi Sangwali in Samba, in connection with the murder of notorious gangster Sumit Jandyal. Singh, who had been on the run, was apprehended at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi as he arrived from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sumit Jandyal, the head of the Gataru gang, was shot dead on January 21 in Jewel Chowk, Jammu, in a high-profile attack that sent shockwaves through the area. Singh’s arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the investigation, with him being the 10th accused to be arrested in this case.
Investigations revealed that Singh played a critical financial role in the conspiracy, handling and transferring funds into various accounts before the murder. These transactions were used to purchase an Alto car just a week before the crime, a vehicle that was later used in Jandyal’s execution.
As the investigation deepens, each arrest brings new insights into the meticulously planned murder, unraveling layers of gang warfare and criminal conspiracy in the region.
