The Neelganga police arrested a young couple involved in a series of bike thefts. The female suspect, Neha, scouted for potential bikes to steal, while the male suspect, Lucky, carried out the thefts. The police recovered three stolen bikes, and two other bikes were previously recovered after being abandoned.
The couple, often likened to the infamous “Bunty and Babli”, was presented in court on Tuesday and subsequently sent to judicial custody. During interrogation, the couple confessed to being involved in five bike thefts.
Neelganga Station In-charge, Tarun Kuril, confirmed the arrests of Neha, daughter of Babulal, and Lucky, son of Ram Prasad Chauhan, both residents of Mahavir Nagar, Piplinaka. They were responsible for several thefts in the region.
CCTV footage from April showed the duo’s suspicious activities around Amber Colony, where a bike was stolen. Their identities were eventually traced, and they were arrested a month later. During questioning, the couple revealed the involvement of an accomplice, who is currently at large. The duo has been charged with vehicle theft, and their involvement in multiple thefts is under investigation.
