LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A mother and son were arrested after surveillance footage showed them robbing Kings World Arcade in Lee County.
On July 18, deputies responded to reports of an armed robbery at the arcade, where a man threatened the cashier with a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
Security cameras captured the suspect fleeing the scene and jumping into a nearby RAV4. Using resources from the Real Time Intelligence Center, deputies tracked down the vehicle.
On Tuesday, authorities detained the driver, 43-year-old Yideyla Suarez Cedeno, and her son, 22-year-old Jose Baez Suarez, who was also present.
Investigators determined Jose entered the arcade to demand money while Yideyla waited outside as the getaway driver.
Deputies recovered a black BB gun resembling the firearm used in the robbery, along with clothing linked to the crime.
Both were arrested and face robbery charges.
