HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Two men were arrested after a brief high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle in Horry County on May 17.
Officers in the Suggs Street area of Loris received a FLOCK alert for a stolen car driven by 21-year-old Yashua Divine Ishmel Hytower. The vehicle’s passenger was identified as 21-year-old Makivee Antwon Langley.
Both men fled from law enforcement in a vehicle traveling speeds up to 100 mph, prompting officers to deploy stop sticks near Highway 905 and Freemont Road. Hytower struck the stop sticks and continued fleeing, which led to a collision involving county officers.
Hytower and Langley then abandoned the vehicle and ran into nearby woods, where they were apprehended.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered two AR-15-style rifles—one concealed under the car and another inside the vehicle.
Hytower faces charges including possession, concealment, sale or disposal of a stolen vehicle valued at $5,000 or more, felon in possession of a firearm, and failure to stop for a blue light causing injury or death (first offense). He was released on an $8,000 bond.
Langley was charged with possession of narcotic drugs, including Schedule I and II substances.
