Police have arrested four suspects accused of orchestrating a land fraud scheme involving the name of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

One of the suspects, Yashim Kajang, was apprehended on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for allegedly defrauding a retired military officer, Major General A.K. Ibrahim (rtd), and other victims of more than N150 million. Authorities say the fraud was linked to a supposed land transaction in the Guzape II Cadastral Zone in Abuja.

According to officials, Kajang allegedly claimed he had connections with the FCT Minister and the Director of Lands to gain the trust of his victims. He reportedly collected large sums of money under the pretense of securing documentation for Plot 1985 in Guzape II, a parcel said to measure three hectares, along with additional plots.

During questioning, Kajang allegedly identified three accomplices: Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both employees of the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), and Terngu Ipaven of Durumi 2, Abuja.

Authorities say Kajang confessed that the trio provided him with land-related data and information used to carry out the fraudulent scheme.

All four suspects are currently under investigation as authorities continue to probe the case.
