SAN JOSE, Calif. — Two San Jose brothels were raided last week as part of a large-scale, multi-state crackdown on illicit massage businesses tied to human trafficking, officials announced Wednesday.
The San Jose Police Department, in coordination with the National Human Trafficking Training Center, participated in “Operation Coast to Coast” — a national effort targeting over two dozen businesses in 19 states suspected of operating as fronts for trafficking and prostitution.
In San Jose, the department’s Human Trafficking Task Force executed search warrants at two locations: one on W. Julian Street near N. Almaden Boulevard, and the other on Sheri Ann Circle in the McKay-Ringwood neighborhood of North San Jose.
On May 29, officers arrested two suspects accused of operating the brothels — Yanqiong Xiong, 39, of Cupertino, and Guijun Zhao, 45, of Rosemead in Los Angeles County.
Authorities also rescued three women who were identified as survivors of human trafficking. Police said the women were provided with victim support services and resources.
Operation Coast to Coast brought together more than 150 law enforcement agencies nationwide. In total, it resulted in 74 arrests and the rescue of 88 trafficking victims, underscoring the widespread reach of illicit massage parlors linked to exploitation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and San Jose police urge anyone with information about trafficking to contact their Human Trafficking Task Force.
