Authorities have arrested two suspects in the gruesome murder of a young woman at the 32nd Beauty Land Hotel in Pabedan Township, Yangon Region, the National Defense and Security Council announced.
On October 6, police discovered the body of 23-year-old Ma Su Myat Win inside a plastic bag in Room 502 on the hotel’s 5th floor, between two outdoor air conditioning units. Parts of her abdominal organs and left thigh were removed. The case was registered at Pabedan Myoma Police Station under Penal Code Section 302 for murder.
Police arrested 18-year-old Aung Khant Kyaw Zin of Thaketa Township and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Aye Myo Aung of Bahan Township, on October 7. Items seized included clothing worn during the crime, two steel knives, and three mobile phones, including one belonging to the victim.
According to his confession, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin lured Ma Su Myat Win via a Telegram channel called LEADER, offering payment for companionship. He killed her with two knives, dismembered the body, and tried to hide the remains. He then called Aye Myo Aung to help clean the scene and conceal evidence.
Authorities confirmed both suspects will face legal action for their involvement in this horrific crime.
