The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Yamunanagar district police arrested two individuals and recovered 810 grams of heroin valued at around Rs 90 lakh in the international market, officials said.
Yamunanagar DSP Rajat Gulia stated that the action was part of a strict campaign against drug traffickers, under the guidance of SP Kamaldeep Goyal. He described the seizure as another major success in the ongoing drive to curb narcotics in the district.
The operation was based on intelligence inputs and executed by a special team led by ANC in-charge Anil Kumar, including SI Karmbir, officials Gurnam, Sultan, ASI Rajinder, and personnel Amit, Vimal, and Pankaj. A barricade was set up under the flyover on Old Radaur Road, where a suspicious youth was intercepted.
Following proper legal procedures, Duty Magistrate and DSP Headquarters Kanwaljeet were called to the spot. During the search, 810 grams of heroin (smack) were recovered. The accused was identified as Rajnesh, son of Tarachand, from Bareli village, Faridpur.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that Rajnesh was transporting the narcotics to Sufiyan, son of Kamaluddin, from Dabkora village in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities said the seizure is part of the district police’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.
