Swan Valley, ID — A Wyoming woman, Alisa Jean Gimlin, was arrested on Friday afternoon after she attempted to evade law enforcement by hiding inside a camper. Deputies from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a separate issue at an RV park located in the 3400 East block of Swan Valley Highway when they noticed Gimlin acting suspiciously and trying to avoid contact.
When a deputy drove toward her to make contact, Gimlin fled into a fenced area and hid near a camper. As luck would have it, the camper’s owner arrived and informed deputies that no one was permitted to be inside.
With the owner’s consent, deputies entered the camper and found 33-year-old Gimlin sitting on the couch. Gimlin initially provided a false name and claimed she had permission to be there. However, after deputies uncovered the falsehood of her story, she attempted to push past them in a bid to escape.
As deputies attempted to secure her, Gimlin began to struggle, yelling and even attempting to retrieve a knife from her pocket. She was ultimately subdued, handcuffed, and placed in a patrol car.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Gimlin had active warrants for her arrest: a misdemeanor failure-to-appear warrant out of Idaho Falls and a felony warrant from Lincoln County, Wyoming.
Gimlin was transported to the Bonneville County Jail, where she was booked on her outstanding warrants, along with additional charges including unlawful entry, providing false information to an officer, and resisting arrest.
