A woman has been arrested in Balasore district, Odisha, for allegedly peddling brown sugar in the region. The arrested individual has been identified as Ruksana Bibi, a resident of Sekabad village, under Jaleswar Municipality.

Following the directions of the Balasore SP, a police team raided Ruksana’s house and seized a substantial quantity of brown sugar. In addition, her parents were also brought in for questioning in connection with the drug operation.

Reports suggest that Ruksana Bibi took over her husband’s narcotics network after his arrest nearly 20 months ago by Kolkata Police. She is alleged to have been smuggling drugs from West Bengal and selling them in the Balasore region. Her residence in Sekabad had been the site of suspicious activities, with frequent visits from unknown individuals.

Earlier this year, a detailed report about Ruksana’s illegal activities was published by Sambad, leading to a police investigation. After her arrest, authorities have been questioning Ruksana to uncover the source of the drugs.

Multiple drug-related cases are pending against Ruksana and her family at various police stations in both Jaleswar and West Bengal. Investigations are ongoing to trace the full extent of her narcotics operations.
