RIO BRAVO, TX — A woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of a water pump and solar lamp in Rio Bravo. According to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a burglary of habitation call around 7 p.m. on January 25, 2025, in the 1500 block of Centeno Lane.
The caller reported that a male and female suspect attempted to steal a water pump valued at $4,000 and managed to take a solar lamp worth $50. Authorities noted that the water pump was abandoned by the suspects near a fence line.
The suspects were identified as John Henry Romero, 34, and Brenda Gualito Lopez, 38. Romero was apprehended near the 1400 block of Orquidia Lane and arrested on charges of theft and burglary of habitation. Lopez, however, was not immediately found.
On March 6, 2025, Lopez was located and arrested after warrants for her arrest were executed. She faces the same charges as Romero: theft, a Class A misdemeanor, and burglary of habitation, a second-degree felony.
The investigation continues as authorities address these charges and pursue further legal action.
