Mumbai police arrested a woman, Ranju Chauhan, and one of her accomplices, Moinuddin Latif Khan, for the murder of her husband, Chandrashekhar Chauhan, at their Goregaon residence on March 19. Chauhan, 28, allegedly plotted the murder with the help of her boyfriend, believed to be Moinuddin Khan, and two other unidentified men. The boyfriend and one accomplice are currently on the run, while the police are actively searching for the remaining suspects.
According to Dindoshi police, the case was solved within six hours of the crime being reported. Police revealed that Ranju Chauhan, a resident of Banjari Pada in Goregaon (East), conspired with her boyfriend to murder her husband, 35-year-old Chandrashekhar, so she could remarry.
Moinuddin Latif Khan, 20, was arrested alongside Ranju Chauhan and charged with murder and conspiracy. Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the two other men involved in the crime.
Chandrashekhar Chauhan, a film set worker, was found unresponsive at his home on Saturday morning. He was rushed to Trauma Care Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
