WILMINGTON, Del. – A Wilmington man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a burglary at the former Emily F. Bissell Hospital property on April 21, 2025, according to the Delaware State Police.
Daniel Quesenberry, 40, was identified as the suspect in the late-night break-in at the state-owned property on Newport Gap Pike. Police say Quesenberry forcibly entered two separate buildings, stealing copper pipes, causing flooding, and later smashing through a garage door using a stolen Toyota Tacoma to access a second building.
Once inside, Quesenberry allegedly stole over $6,500 in property and left behind thousands of dollars in damage. The Toyota Tacoma he used had been reported stolen in New Castle County days prior.
Detectives from the Troop 2 Property Crimes Unit, working with New Castle County Police, arrested Quesenberry on April 23 on unrelated charges before connecting him to the burglary. He now faces several felonies, including:
Two counts of third-degree burglary
Theft over $1,500
Possession of burglar tools
Criminal mischief
Criminal trespass
Quesenberry was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and is currently being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $29,150 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing, with surveillance footage under review and potential additional charges pending as detectives explore links to other incidents.
