WILLOWBROOK, Ill. – Three individuals, including a 16-year-old, have been charged after stealing a car in Willowbrook and leading police on a dangerous high-speed chase, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Amarion Sutton, 19, of Maywood, is facing charges of aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer. Isaac Ramirez, 23, of Cicero, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The 16-year-old boy from Orland Hills faces charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm. Sutton and the teenager were denied release.
The incident began around 12:47 a.m. Tuesday when a 2019 Nissan Altima was reported stolen. An Oak Brook officer anticipated the car on northbound Route 83. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Sutton, turned off the lights and sped over 100 mph.
As the car entered eastbound I-88, police deflated two of its tires, causing the vehicle to stop. All occupants fled on foot. Sutton and the teenager were arrested shortly after, while Ramirez was located with the help of a drone and Hinsdale police.
Police believe the teenager discarded a loaded Glock 25 Gen 4 handgun with an extended magazine while fleeing. Sutton and Ramirez are scheduled for court on Dec. 15, and the teen’s next court date is Dec. 1.
