William Tatum Shooting: Three Men Charged in Columbus

Suspects face murder and multiple felony charges

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the October shooting death of William Tatum, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Ka’Sean Huff, 26, was taken into custody Wednesday by the department’s Fugitive Unit. Marques Lattimor, 22, and Uriel Reed, 25, were served with arrest warrants while already being held at the Muscogee County Jail on unrelated charges.

All three suspects are facing multiple felony charges, including murder, armed robbery, home invasion in the first degree, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and cruelty to children in the third degree.

Police say the shooting occurred on Oct. 10, 2025, around 8:50 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 5000 block of Stone Park Drive. Upon arrival, they found 40-year-old William Tatum suffering from a gunshot wound.

Tatum was transported by emergency medical services to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m. by an emergency room physician.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

All three suspects are scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday, Feb. 6, at 8 a.m.
