HATBORO, PA — The Hatboro Police Department has arrested William McNichol, 60, on charges of impersonating a police officer during a traffic stop last month.

Investigators report that on June 21, 2025, McNichol allegedly used emergency lights on his personal Dodge Charger to pull over another motorist at the intersection of S. York Road and Byberry Road. The stop followed a reported road rage incident. Authorities confirmed that McNichol is not a law enforcement officer.

He now faces charges of impersonating a public servant and harassment.

All charges are allegations, and McNichol is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
