CHADBOURN, N.C. — A Columbus County man is facing murder charges following a deadly shooting Sunday, Dec. 21, authorities said.

William Cody Inman was arrested for allegedly firing into a home on Dudney Lane. Deputies found a male victim, later identified as David Ray Ivey Jr., unresponsive. Despite deputies performing life-saving measures until emergency personnel arrived, Ivey was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrest warrants indicate a woman and a child were also inside the home during the incident.
