RANKIN COUNTY, MS – On Monday, July 14, a coordinated investigation between Rankin County Deputies, Madison Police, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) led to the arrest of William Daniel Rogers, 42, and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and firearms.
Rogers was stopped during a traffic stop in Rankin County, where officers discovered more than 122 fentanyl pills on his person. This discovery prompted authorities to obtain a search warrant for his residence at 853 Willow Grande Circle in the Castlewoods community.
During the search, law enforcement uncovered a vast collection of illicit substances, including:
3.6 pounds of marijuana
47 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
152 M30 fentanyl pills
50 OxyContin pills
20 Xanax bars
2 grams of cocaine
28 grams of heroin
2 grams of fentanyl powder
1 gram of methamphetamine
1 pound of THC honey oil
10 ounces of THC wax
100,000 mg of THC vapes
1 pound of THC gummies
10 ounces of THC “Jello shots”
In addition, officers seized 19 firearms and 4 unregistered or homemade weapon suppressors.
Rogers was booked into the Rankin County Jail on an initial charge of drug trafficking, with bond set at $100,000. Additional charges are expected. He will appear before Judge David Morrow for his initial court appearance.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of such multi-agency investigations in curbing the availability of fentanyl and reducing overdose deaths in the metro area. This case underscores the ongoing effort to remove dangerous drugs and weapons from Mississippi communities.
