JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — A 54-year-old woman is facing a wide range of charges in connection with a major financial fraud scheme targeting patients at a women’s care facility.
Wendy Hopkins was charged on July 2 with 48 counts, including identity theft, forgery, computer crime, theft, and mistreatment of an elder person, according to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office.
Though specific details have not been disclosed, officials believe the crimes are linked to fraudulent activity at Rockhill Women’s Care between September 2022 and November 2023.
The District Attorney is urging any patients of Rockhill Women’s Care who experienced financial fraud during that time to contact law enforcement immediately.
