In a significant drug trafficking bust, Ri-Bhoi police arrested three individuals late at night at Umsning, recovering approximately 10.9 grams of suspected heroin during a targeted operation.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Ri-Bhoi District Executive Force (DEF) intercepted a Maruti Baleno (Registration No. ML-05 AB-9902) traveling from Nongpoh towards Shillong. The vehicle was stopped at Nongthymmai junction along NH-06.
Upon searching the car and its occupants, police discovered the contraband and immediately detained the suspects.
Arrested Individuals:
Wellborn Khongjoh alias Bull, resident of Kynjoin Umran
Fedrick Kharkrang, resident of Shangbangla
Pascal Kharkrang, also from Shangbangla, Ri-Bhoi district
Police have launched further investigations to determine the source and intended distribution network for the narcotics.
